What have MCIAA to do with all this? In November 2016 it came out our debut release > ETERNAL BEYOND >, the trio project with French “Queen of grunt” JOELLE VINCIARELLI (of Talweg, La Morte Young), recorded “in a little private recording studio between the French Mediterranean coast and the mysterious Village Nègre at Col de Vence, a labyrinth made of rock formations tortured into arcane and evocative shapes [..] Every album by the Opalio brothers—and this one is no exception—fits within a design and pertains to a gesture as part of a wider history: their own history, the whole history of music too, and even more. Since through My Cat Is An Alien we dare the Eternal without being guilty of sacrilege, the same Eternal suggested by the title, far beyond an oblique nod to Sun Ra. An Eternal which they reach here once again, this time joined by Joëlle Vinciarelli, exploring paths that range from Duration to Time, from Repetition to Becoming, and from Silence to Being. Paths over which the three of them stand as guarantors of a morality in the form of cosmic duty. A moral duty for Creation (“a self-rolling wheel” Nietzsche wrote) to be Redemption (“Music is the Healing Force of the Universe”, as suggested by Albert Ayler).” - PHILIPPE ROBERT
